Lagos Fashion Week LOOKBOOK IDEA || CHECK MY CHECKERED

Checkered blazer

It’s Lagos Fashion Week Show (LFWS) and I am here thinking of the good stuff I will be missing but thanks to  Instagram Stories, always there to give all missed information and help me miss less.
It’s so sad, I have never been to a LFWS and it’s more sad I won’t be there this year.
I really can’t wait to see Mai Atafo and  Orange Culture designs later today.

I want to share some of my favorite fashion designers from the past days of Lagos fashion week show.
Here are my favorites in no particular order :
 Fruche

Style Temple : but really  design check, models check, colors check.

–  DNA Label By Iconic Invanity: love love the Print.

–  Demure By DENIKE: the display of the OFI from the Western part of Nigeria

–  Tongorostudio  : the hat made a statement

– Studio189.

– Russell Solomon

Moofadesigns

– I did not really like the Dew Collection for some weird reason maybe the color

I love Lisa Folawiyo

If I was schooling back home and planned on attending LFWS I would have worn one of these looks depending on how I felt.

THE STORY BEHIND THIS LOOKBOOK :

I never liked it when people’s color of shoes matched the color of their top or skirt\ trouser . I just thought it was a way of one staying safe and lack of wanting to play around with other colors. Now that I am knowledgeable in fashion, I know they were being BOLD. Just like those people I saw, today we are going to be BOLD with Checkered not colors by seeing ways to wear Checkered Blazer with Checkered Shoes so don’t be discouraged with playing with pieces of the same colors or patterns.

This blazer was one of the things I got at the ending of Summer, but I had to wait till fall to wear it , because I was not ready to sweat all day. So in the waiting period I was thinking of ways to style it then my checkered shoe which was bought some months ago came to mind. Scroll down to see what I came up with.

WITH TROUSER AND TURTLE NECK TOP:

Wanted Something Serious But Friendly And Ready To Work Look.

I added a straw bag to look fashionable and a turtleneck to look polished.

This is perfect for a corporate look.

WITH A GOWN:

Thought of something Free, Comfortable, Simple And Easy To Merge.

By pairing them with a Gown to show simplicity, with same straw bag and checkered shoe.

This will work for a cool weekend meeting.

When I was researching more about this content I found out Checkered is different from Tartan and Plaid which are two different patterns. Amazing right!!!. If you are just knowing this do comment in the comment box below to know I am not alone on this.

Versatile piece are the best styling opportunities.

Which will you go for? Do leave me a comment .

XOXO,

Victory
