I am in my last year in medical school and soon workwear will make the most part of my weekly outfits and I realised I have never done a post on workwear so I thought why not make one. When the word ‘Workwear’ comes up we often conjure a feeling of seriousness. But does workwear have to be all formal and serious? You can spice up your professional outfits without going boring. There is really no rule to force this. There are lots of age-old fashion rules that everyone used to adhere to : the need to wear a blazer or tight trousers or suited head to toe to depict professionalism. You really don’t have.
So what are the guidelines :
- The trick is subtle tones
- Fabric choices can change the course of an outfit: not all shirts or trousers are equal. A silk shirt gives a different vibe from a classic white button-down shirt. I also advise you to try on mixing various prints together.
- Focus on accessories, starting from jewellery to scarves, bags and belts. Accessorize with classic bags and get those shoes that are comfortable. Be sure not to overboard with jewellery’s brightness, use them wisely
Good thing it’s weekend and this is a great guideline to prep you for the week by spicing up your workwear. Do have a great week ahead!
