5 REASONS TO LOVE THRIFT SHOPPING

 

There are lots of people who love going to the mall to get what they want and leave as soon as they can. They are not in for the treasure hunting some people call THRIFTING. It’s no secret I’m a huge advocate of  thirfting and I just realized the excitement I get. Whenever I go shopping, I am always  enthusiastic for the newly unexpected things to find, but then again I also tell myself  like I tell people “calm your nerves so not to be disappointed at the end of the day”. Thrifting unlike waiting for days stores are on sale or Black Friday has a lot of benefits.

You can’t imagine yourself paying or wearing already worn clothes by someone you know nothing about, or the places it has been to before you both met. Yes you are right, but think about it , it’s a WIN WIN, Worn Clothes for less Price with good quality. If you have never gone thrifting consider these, reasons to at least try:

1.Affordable with good quality;

The part you are missing out, everyone loves affordable things, DON’T YOU? Blazers that cost a fortune, can be found in a thrift store at an affordable price and still in a good condition .Whenever I go thrift shopping I check the difference in price, quality and quantity with shopping in malls or random stores. Trust me there is a big difference. A clothe that cost $20 in a mall, thrift shopping with same amount of money can offer 4 clothes. Spending like this makes me go back again and again .

2. Unique and Rare pieces;

I have seen situations where someone wears the same outfit, same day, same time with someone else. Most thrifted items are hard to find. You are 80% less likely to find someone wearing the same thing you are putting on.That makes you outstanding .

3. Vintage items / Rare designs;

I get asked  ” where did you get this clothes from? “(especially big clothes) ,then I  be like”Thrift Store ooo “. There is just something about these pieces and designs that makes one look stunning and different. You can also dress the styles of different decades.

4. Adds uniqueness to your style; 

Apart from splurging once in a while, a touch of thrift clothes makes you exclusive and creative. Really!!. It’s a form of exploring  different styles, and finding the one you are most comfortable with.

5. Mixing Eras;

 Blending modernized and vintage pieces makes an outfit look distinctively  timeless.

Remember not to spend all your savings just because items are affordable,

Re-use, Re-wear and Recycle.
